Get the App and Trial License Key

In a subsequent step, we will ask you to provide us with the SEN number of your Jira version. Upon submission, you will receive a one-month trial period and a complimentary download link for the software.

Installation of the App

Please save the app file we sent to you locally on your computer.

Follow these steps to install the app in Jira:

  • Navigate to Jira > Administration > Manage apps.

  • Click on "Upload App."

  • Browse for the app file on your computer and select it.

  • Click on Upload and wait for completion:

  • Finally, you receive this message:

Configuration of the App

Navigate to Manage apps > VIP.LEAN FLOATING LICENSES > Settings.

  1. In the "License Key" field, enter the key we sent to you based on your SEN. Please note that you can only use this key with the Jira instance that has the exact same SEN.

  2. In the "Number of Floating Licenses" field, enter the number of floating licenses you want to assign. This number should represent the quantity of paid Jira user licenses that you want to dynamically allocate to virtual users. Ensure that you do not exceed your user license tier when considering permanently assigned licenses, such as for:

    • Admin Users

    • Users Accessing RestAPI

    • Reserved Technical users for

  3. In the "Jira Virtual Group Name" field, enter the name of the group where all virtual users are assigned as members. These users should be granted dynamic access to Jira. This group does not have access to the Jira application and therefore does not count towards the Jira user license tier.

  4. In the "Jira Active Group Name" field, enter the name of the group with access to the Jira application. The app will dynamically assign and remove virtual users based on their Jira activity.

  5. In the "User Inactivity Threshold (Min)" field, enter the threshold value for inactivity in minutes. This value determines when the app is allowed to replace an inactive user with a new logging user if the "Number of Floating Licenses" are already in use.

  6. Click on Save

  7. The license will be validated and the App License parameters will be displayed
