Why you need the VIP.LEAN Floating Licenses

There are two key scenarios:

1. You have a Jira Server instance in its end-of-life phase, and you are unable to upgrade your user tier to accommodate additional real users.

2. You have a Jira Data Center, and you want to optimize your costs by switching to floating licenses, providing access to Jira for active users during their active time.

Support and Limitations

VIP.LEAN Floating Licenses is compatible with:

• Jira Software and Jira Core (Server) versions 7, 8, and 9

• Jira Software and Jira Core (Data Center) versions 7, 8, and 9

• LDAP

We recommend assigning permanent name-based licenses to the following users:

• Administrators

• Rest API Users

• Technical users for scripts
